How to Play Deals Rummy Games

Deals Rummy is played between 2 to 6 players with 1 or 2 decks of cards, which includes Printed Jokers. The gameplay of Deals Rummy is similar to Points Rummy game where a random toss is made to decide which player will make the first move. A wild joker is selected randomly, which can be used to replace others to form sets and sequences.

Each player has to pick from either Closed or Open Deck during their turn. Throughout the gameplay, you need to arrange your 13 cards into sets or sequences. The player who declares with a valid hand along with two sequences (including a pure sequence) wins the deal.

The winner of each deal wins chips lost by the other losing players. The player who accumulates the maximum number of chips at the end of all deals wins the rummy game and thus the prize pool.

At the end of each deal, losing players lose chips based on the points of their cards.

1 Point = 1 Chip

For example, if you play Best of 2 Deals and lose 20 points in the first deal, you lose 20 chips to your opponent. And if your opponent loses 50 chips in the next deal, you win 50 chips from your opponent.

Winner’s Points: The winner of each deal gets zero points.

Losing Players’ Points: If the losing player has two sequences, including a pure sequence, he gets points based on the unmatched cards in his hand.

1) Face Cards: All face cards, which includes Aces, Kings, Queens and Jacks, carry 10 points each
2) Numbered Cards: All other cards carry points based on their numerical value. For example 4 of Hearts carry 4 points; 9 of Spades carry 9 points.
3) Jokers: All Jokers carry zero points

Maximum Limit of Points: A player can get a maximum of 80 points in each deal, irrespective of the total value of cards. If the total sum of points of a player is 120, he will be penalised with a maximum of 80 points in Deals Rummy.

Points Calculation in Deals Rummy

The formula to calculate the winner’s chips at the end of each deal is mentioned below:
Winnings = (Sum of points of all losing players) X (One Chip)

An example of chips calculation: 4 players play a game of best of 4 deals. The winner of the first deal wins chips from the losing players. If the three losing players lose with 30, 40 and 50 points, the calculation of winnings in that deal will be:
Winnings = (30 + 40 + 50) x 1 Chip
Therefore, the winner of the deal gets 120 chips from his opponents.
